RCMAS envisions making students future-ready. It is powerfully demonstrated through its emphasis on academic excellence. The institution’s educational philosophy, centred on unmatched academic proficiency, creates a dynamic learning environment that maximises each student’s potential. Such an edge to academic rigour has yielded impressive results, positioning our graduates for success in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Over the past five years, Rajagiri has achieved a remarkable 162 university ranks and a pass percentage of 89 -a steep rise that underscores the growing academic prowess of the institution and the students’ readiness for future challenges. The consistent record of students achieving top ranks in university exams and the high pass rates year after year are clear indicators of academic excellence of the institutions.
The holistic approach of the institution to education cultivates a diverse skill set that prepares students for the multifaceted challenges of tomorrow’s workplace. This can be seen in the significant number of university rank holders who are also equally accomplished in extracurricular activities.
In the past five years, a remarkable tally of students have clinched 59 prestigious awards and medals by triumphing in sports and cultural competitions at the state, national and international levels. For the MG University Youth Festival, 68 of our students participated in 40 different events and bagged A grade for 16 individual and group events and second prize for three events.
Innovative Courses and Initiatives
All the programmes of the college are designed to meet the demands of the new generation, equipping them with a diverse skill set for the future job markets. Voice of RCMAS is another unique program that involves students from the BA English program providing in- house voice commentaries as news reels for various events in the College youtube channel. This initiative is designed to enhance their skills in anchoring, advertising and public speaking. Shutterbugs, the photography club, cultivates creativity and technical skills, enabling students to express themselves visually and learn various photography techniques, including composition, lighting and editing. Natyayoga, another remarkable event, a unique blend of dance and yoga, promotes holistic well-being, enhancing both physical and mental health.
Experiential Learning and awareness of Sustainable practices include Millet Farming, Cultivation of indigenous paddy seedling-Pokkali and preservation of rare and threatened plant species.
The Design Labs of BA Animation nurtures innovation and creativity among students and faculty. It focuses on an environment where design thinking, prototyping and the incubation of new ideas can bloom. Regular workshops, training sessions and seminars are organised to cover various aspects of design, entrepreneurship and innovation, providing participants with valuable knowledge and skills. Additionally, the lab offers incubation support, assisting students and startups in transforming their ideas into viable businesses including guidance on business planning, access to funding and networking opportunities to connect with industry experts and potential investors. Design presentation for Screw Pine Craft Artisans at KIDS titled Ezha was conducted as part of it.
The BBA programme in 2022 adopted the theme “Ahead of Time” as their annual department theme to equip students with the soft skills and entrepreneurial knowledge necessary to excel in the business world of tomorrow. The BCA department organised a Robotics workshop, which provided the students with a unique opportunity to explore a new field beyond their regular coursework. It offered hands-on experience in robot development, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge practically. Students made 10 robots and the workshop inspired the commencement of an Add-on course and a PG programme in AI.
