REACH (RCMAS Empowered Alumni for Community and Heritage)
The Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences (RCMAS) has been significantly enriched by its alumni association, REACH (RCMAS Empowered Alumni for Community and Heritage). Established officially in the academic year 2023-2024 (EKM/TC/218/2024), REACH has played a crucial role in the institution’s growth and development since the graduation of the first batch in 2008. Annual Alumni Meet is conducted on 26 January of every year.
Alumni Financial Support Services
REACH actively supports RCMAS through various financial initiatives. This includes:
- Book Donations: REACH has organized several book donation campaigns, enhancing the college library and other educational institutions with diverse reference materials.
- Scholarships: The REACH scholarship recognizes students who excel academically, demonstrate leadership, engage in community service, and exhibit ethical conduct. This initiative motivates students to excel and contribute positively to society.
- Social Responsibility Projects: REACH is involved in significant community service activities, including:
i) Home-Building for Underprivileged Families (Snehakkood)
ii) Community Health Camps
iii) Environmental Sustainability Programs
These projects reflect the alumni’s commitment to societal welfare, impacting many lives and contributing to community well-being. - Infrastructure Support: Alumni have contributed to RCMAS infrastructure by donating essential items like stationery, chairs, curtains, and electrical equipment.
Alumni Other Support Services
- Alumni Talks: Former students share their professional experiences, insights, and advice with current students. These talks cover career development, industry trends, personal growth, and leadership, providing inspiration and practical guidance for students’ future careers.
- Alumni Involvement as Faculty: Alumni who return as faculty members enrich the academic environment with practical industry experience and diverse perspectives. Their understanding of the institution’s culture allows them to connect with students effectively and bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application.
- Participation in Intercollegiate Fests: Alumni engage as judges and mentors in intercollegiate festivals hosted by RCMAS. Their involvement adds credibility to the events and provides valuable networking opportunities for current students, reinforcing the bond between alumni and the institution.
- Placement Drive Contributions: Alumni play a vital role in placement drives by leveraging their professional networks to create job opportunities for current students.
- Support for Startups: Alumni involved in startups share their entrepreneurial experiences with current students, offering mentorship, investment opportunities, and practical advice. This engagement fosters innovation and supports entrepreneurial talent, highlighting the institution’s commitment to nurturing business ventures.
- Software Development for Exam Management – EXMAN: Glenn Antony, an alumnus from the BCA batch of 2019-2022, developed EXMAN, a software solution for managing university examination duties. This innovative system automates the allocation of exam responsibilities based on teachers’ availability and expertise, streamlining communication and reducing administrative workload. EXMAN significantly enhances the examination management process, showcasing the impact of RCMAS graduates’ technological expertise.
- REACH WhatsApp Community: The REACH WhatsApp Community facilitates active alumni engagement through activities such as blood donation drives and campus outreach programs like ‘Rajagiri Sparsh’. Through these varied initiatives, REACH exemplifies the enduring relationship between RCMAS and its alumni, significantly contributing to the institution’s development and community impact.
