At RCMAS, participation in the National Service Scheme is a prestigious opportunity extended to motivate students committed to community service and social impact. Interested students undergo a thoughtful selection process through interviews, where their passion for service, leadership potential and dedication making a difference are carefully considered.Selected participants join a vibrant community of change makers dedicated to addressing local and societal challenges through meaningful projects and initiatives.

- The student, who volunteers to participate in a 7-day special camp (work camp) and a mini- camp as well as devotes 240 hours to community service within a period of two years in the course of study, gets a national merit certificate, signed by the Vice Chancellor and issued by the University.
- NSS volunteers who have certificates are eligible for grace mark for their University examination.

Kiranam is committed to bringing comfort and joy to the elderly in old age homes by engaging in meaningful interactions, organizing recreational activities, and providing companionship. This initiative bridges the generational gap, alleviates loneliness, and ensures that seniors feel valued and remembered. Volunteers visit these homes to engage in meaningful interactions, such as organizing recreational activities, sharing stories, and providing companionship. Snehakoodu tackles inadequate housing by constructing safe and durable homes for underprivileged families. This project provides stability and security, enhancing living conditions and offering a foundation for a better future. By improving their living conditions, Snehakoodu aims to enhance the overall well-being of these families and provide them with a foundation for a better future. We were fortunate to build two houses at Mazhuvannoor and Vaikom respectively.
Oru Pothi Sneham addresses food insecurity through organized meal distribution drives, ensuring that individuals and families facing food shortages have access to nutritious meals. This initiative fosters generosity and communal support, ensuring that essential nourishment reaches those in need. This initiative not only ensures that people have access to essential nourishment but also fosters a spirit of generosity and communal support. This is usually done in Tripunithura and Palarivattom side.
Karuthal responds to the need for adequate clothing by organizing drives to collect and distribute warm clothing to individuals and families, ensuring they stay comfortable and protected during harsh weather conditions. The project focuses on providing clothing and other essentials to individuals and families who cannot afford them, thereby ensuring that they remain comfortable and protected during harsh weather conditions.
Drop of Life plays a crucial role in supporting local healthcare systems by organizing blood donation camps. These camps encourage community members to donate blood voluntarily, addressing the critical need for blood supplies in hospitals and emergency situations. The project helps save lives by facilitating the collection of blood donations and promoting the importance of this lifesaving act.
Haritham promotes sustainable agriculture through organic farming practices, helping volunteers learn and implement eco-friendly techniques. This initiative aims to reduce reliance on chemicals, improve soil health, and support healthier food choices. We encourage our volunteers to even grow micro greens and add to their diet as well.
Parinamam combats plastic pollution by distributing reusable cloth bags and educating the community about the environmental impact of plastic waste. This project encourages the adoption of sustainable alternatives, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. Sanjeevani offers compassionate palliative care to those with serious illnesses, focusing on pain relief, emotional support, and quality-of-life improvements. This project seeks to ease suffering and restore dignity during challenging times. Kaaval equips volunteers with essential skills for disaster response and first aid through comprehensive training programs. This initiative enhances community resilience and preparedness in the face of emergencies. Anti-Drug Campaigns focus on raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, promoting healthy, drug-free lifestyles through educational workshops and preventive programs. This effort supports those struggling with addiction and fosters a supportive environment for recovery. Sneharamam enhances local environments through community cleaning and tree planting initiatives. ‘Gandhi Darshan’ photo exhibition was held, providing a profound tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and legacy. This impactful event attracted over 600 participants from various schools and colleges, highlighting the enduring relevance of Gandhi’s principles. The exhibition featured a curated collection of poignant photographs that captured pivotal moments in Gandhi’s journey, from his role in India’s struggle for independence to his daily life and interactions with key figures. Each photograph was accompanied by informative captions that provided historical context and insights into Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence and justice. The exhibition not only served as a visual narrative of Gandhi’s contributions but also acted as an educational platform, fostering discussions among students and visitors about the application of his ideals in addressing contemporary global issues. The positive feedback from attendees reflected a deep appreciation for the opportunity to engage with Gandhi’s legacy through this powerful medium, underscoring the exhibition’s success in connecting historical events with modern-day relevance.
