Description:

Artocarpus hirsutus is a tropical fruit tree with rough, hairy leaves and small, greenish-yellow fruits known as jackfruit, which have a sweet and aromatic taste.

Habitat:Semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forests, also in the plains.

Distribution: Southern Western Ghats.

Uses: Artocarpus hirsutus fruits are consumed fresh and are also used in cooking, desserts, and making preserves due to their sweet flavor and pleasant aroma.
