Description:

Citrus hystrix, also known as kaffir lime, is a thorny citrus tree with dark green, bumpy leaves and aromatic, bumpy-skinned fruits commonly used in Southeast Asian cuisine.

Habitat:  Shrubby growth.

Distribution: Southern China, Indian Subcontinent, Malaysia and Indo-China.

Uses: Citrus hystrix, is used in cooking to add a distinctive citrusy flavor to various dishes, especially in Southeast Asian cuisine, where its leaves, zest, and juice are commonly employed.
