BACHELOR OF SOCIAL WORK (BSW)

The BSW programme emphasises the importance of core competence in social work practice with added importance to field-based learning and reflection which is a unique feature of social work education. The programme objectives and learning outcomes are visualized for providing a holistic perspective in social work for the learners. The application of class room learning to the faculty-led practical experience is an integral part of social work education. The field-based experience can develop the ability of the learners to integrate knowledge, values and skills required for a professional practice in social work.

The BSW (Hons.) programme is a four year (Eight semesters) academic programme, with an option for exit in the third year with a BSW degree.

BSW Eligibility Criteria 

The candidate for admission must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination.

BSW graduates are in demand in every area of recruitment such as in NGOs, Human Resource Management, Education, Rehab Centres, Welfare Organizations, Old age homes, clinics, community and health care centres, hospitals, private firms, and much more in job roles such as Social Worker, Case Manager, Counsellor, Mental Health Assistant, Community Outreach Worker, Research Assistant, Program Manager etc.
