The Common Five-Ring Ypthima baldus

The common five-ring, is a species of Satyrinae butterfly found in Asia. The typical yellow-ringed black ocelli is a distinguishing feature of the various species of Ypthima in the Nymphalidae family. The pair of rings at the tornus of the hindwing is counted as one. The total number of the rings (five) counted on the hind wing gives this species its common name.
