The White-cheeked Barbet is a small, green bird found in the forests of South India and Sri Lanka, easily recognized by its distinctive white cheek patches and loud, repetitive calls of “kutturu …. kutturu”. It inhabits evergreen and deciduous forests, gardens, and orchards. This barbet feeds on fruits, nectar, and insects, playing an important role in seed dispersal.
