The White-throated Kingfisher is a medium-sized bird found across Asia, easily recognized by its bright blue wings, white throat, and chestnut head and underparts. It inhabits a variety of environments including wetlands, forests, and urban areas. It is mostly found around any water source. This kingfisher feeds on a diverse diet including fish, insects, amphibians, and small reptiles. It is known for its loud, piercing call and its habit of perching conspicuously while hunting. The White-throated Kingfisher nests in burrows dug into banks or termite mounds. Its striking appearance and versatile hunting skills make it a fascinating bird to observe.
