Description: An evergreen tree grows up to 15m in height. Leaves are simple and alternate that are oblong-elliptic or ovate-oblong shape. About 1-3 triangular flowers are produced in the leaf axil. Fruit is an aggregate type yellow in color and is conical to heart-shaped with 15cm diameter.
Distribution: Throughout the world.
Uses: The leaves are used in folk medicine as a remedy for rheumatism. The edible, yellow fruit is excellent quality and can be used in ice cream, pies and cakes. The seeds have a wide range of uses like as a material in making necklaces and bracelets, and as an insecticide.
