Description: Canna indica, commonly known as Indian shot or African arrowroot, is a flowering plant native to the tropics of the Americas and valued for its vibrant blooms and ornamental foliage.

Habitat:   A Perennial, growing in disturbed sites and waste areas.

Distribution: Assam, Gujarat, America

Uses: Ornamental, Traditional medicine, can be used for the treatment of industrial waste waters through constructed wetlands. It is effective for the removal of high organic load, colour and chlorinated organic compounds from paper mill wastewater.
