Description: A tall rainforest tree known for its slender leaves and small blue fruits. large evergreen tree, often with buttress roots, and has leaves with wavy serrations, creamy white flowers and more or less spherical bright blue drupe fruit.

Habitat: Generally, prefer a warm humid climate.

Distribution: India, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, Papau New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.

Uses: Seeds used for hypertension and heart ailments. Fruits used for epileptic fits. Leaf sap used for stomach aches, chest and shoulder pains. – In the Indian subcontinent, used as anti-convulsant, anti-hypertensive, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antidepressant, analgesic. and proliferation of immune cells. A sacred tree in India, where its seeds are commonly used as beads to make rosaries, the seeds are also used for buttons etc.
