Description: An evergreen tree spreading crown. It grows up to 5 – 15m high. The trunk is slightly contorted, round, 25 – 50cm in diameter at base and usually branching from near the base. Leaves bifoliate and alternate, dark green shade. Flowers are white in spike inflorescence that are born on the axis of leaves. Fruit a pod with about 5cm long.

 

 

Distribution:  All throughout the world.

Uses: Fruit pulp is edible. Often used in ice cream. Used as a shade tree.
