Description

 A large evergreen tree with shiny and leathery green leaves and white to pale yellow flowers. Growing to 50 m tall. Leaves are broadly to narrowly elliptic or egg shaped. Flowers are borne in clusters, distinctly 5-lobed, yellow petals with a red, sunken, cup-shaped disk.

Habitat: Evergreen forests and sacred groves.

Distribution: Assam, Kerala

Uses: Timber used for construction purpose
