Description:

Manilkara zapota, also known as sapodilla, is a tropical evergreen tree with glossy green leaves and oval-shaped fruits with brownish, rough skin and sweet, grainy flesh.

Habitat: It occur as a cultivated tree in yards, farms, and along roads.

Distribution: India, Mexico and Venezuela.

Uses: Manilkara zapota,  is enjoyed fresh as a sweet and flavorful fruit, and its latex is used to make chewing gum.
