Description:

The Ashoka tree is a small evergreen plant from India with pretty orange-yellow flowers. A tree prized for its large clusters of vibrant flowers. The colours of the flowers vary widely, ranging from orange-yellow to red. Found naturally in rainforests along streams and rivers, it thrives in cultivation when grown under full sunlight and fertile, well-drained soil.

Habitat: Evergreen tree grows to a height of 7–10 m.

Distribution: India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

Uses: The Ashoka tree is used in traditional medicine for various ailments and is valued for its ornamental beauty in gardens and parks. The bark is also useful in dyspepsia, fever, and burning sensation. It is also used to treat menorrhagia, leucorrhoea, internal bleeding, hemorrhoids, and hemorrhagic dysentery.
